Book links
Our bookmark group is growing steadily! I'm ready to assign partners to those who are ready to go! New swappers can join the group anytime. I'll assign them partners as new people join the group. :) If anyone has any questions, just email me at juliwyant@bellsouth.net, or post/comment.
There are lots of neat book websites, groups, and forums out there! I've been doing a bit of net searching the last couple of days. :) Really has me in the mood to make bookmarks and read some good books!
Probably most of us have heard of (or participate in) Bookcrossing.com. Bookcrossing allows people to put ID #s in books and then give them away -- those who read these books log the book in at the website. Then the book can be tracked on its journey as each person passes it along. The site has book reviews, articles, journaling....all sorts of interesting stuff!!! The books I send out for this exchange will be tagged for Bookcrossing.....it will be fun to see how far they go!
If you're interested in bookcrossing, go and register. It's free, and a fun way to recycle your used books! Release a book into the wild!! :)
Also, there is a Summer Reading Challenge. Signups are open until the 31st....so the join deadline is coming up fast. Here's a website with more info:
http://page2amandareads.blogspot.com/2006/05/summer-reading-challenge-2006.html
If you want to jump in and participate, the challenge has a forum that participants can join. And there are blog buttons that you can snag here: http://ttbookjunkie.blogspot.com/2006/05/calling-all-readers.html
I have lots of books I have been meaning to read.....and I find new ones at the thriftshop all the time! So a reading challenge will be great!
Anyone else have some book links they want to share?
Hugs! Juli

We need a blog button!
Anyone talented with making graphics like blog buttons?? I'd love to post a couple different ones here so that folks can snag one for their blog to give us some publicity. :)
Any volunteers??
Hugs! Juli (button-challenged...lol)

Send in those surveys!! :)
There are 4 swappers signed up so far -- that's pretty good for one day! :) I have sent out invitations to join this blog to everyone I've received surveys from.
The first round of the exchange will start in June, depending on when we get enough swappers to start. Probably about 10 or so. And other people can jump in for partners as we go along. Exchange dates are flexible...starting when you're ready to exchange with 30 days for sending your bookmark and book to your partner.
Feel free to jump in and post bookmark patterns, book reviews, photos of bookmarks you've made/received, etc. Let's just have fun!!

Bookmark Exchange!
Bookmarks are small craft projects that are easy to carry to appointments, to work, wherever the crafty bug strikes you! They can be made using all sorts of crafts -- crochet, knitting, beadwork, plastic canvas, needlepoint, sewing.......choices and themes are nearly unlimited!
So I thought I would start this exchange blog to gather up crafters who are interested in exchanging bookmarks and who love to read! Swappers will exchange a hand-made bookmark and a book of their choice with their swap partners.
Inexpensive books are easy to find! Cheap books are available at yard sales, thrift shops, library sales, used book stores. Or even books that you've already read and want to pass on! If you want to add more fun to the exchange, check out www.bookcrossing.com . Bookcrossing allows you to put a tag on a book and register it. Then you send or give the book to someone, and they pass it along when they're done. You can log onto the site and see all the places your book has travelled. It's really neat!
If you want to join in, please fill out the survey. I will add links to your blogs as I receive completed surveys. This will be an ongoing exchange for those who want to continue exchanging. After your first initial partner, when you are ready to exchange again just contact me and I'll match you up with another swapper. This allows everyone to exchange at their own pace. Please complete your swaps within 30 days.
If you have any questions, just drop me an email. :) To sign up, please complete the survey located here.
I will post more about when exchanging will begin when we have enough signed up to start.
TTFN!
